June 27, 2007 21:28:57 This fish is a member of the family Chiasmodontidae. The family of fish is referred to as the “great swallowers” owing to their ability to consume fishes nearly as large or even as large as themselves. This individual was collected between 1000 and 1500 meters depth. |
